What started as a way to simply stay warm during cold months in 2nd Century Rome and a way to season unpalatable wine in the European middle ages caught on and mulled wine has now become a most basic holiday tradition across the world. Variations of mulled wine over the centuries have blended everything from the spices we know and love to herbs and botanicals. Like many before us, we set out to produce a blend of spices that embodied the magical essence of the holidays when mulled wine is enjoyed the most.
The 1890's represented a turning point for mulled wine as it became a customary part of holiday celebrations worldwide. Revered for its warm and spicy aroma, a glass of mulled wine can be found at almost every holiday table. Firepot Mulling Spices are a delicate and balanced blend of organic spices: cloves, cinnamon, orange peel, peppercorn and coriander seed - and are as enchanting to the nose as they are the tongue.
Sipping a steaming mug of holiday mulled wine while enjoying the rich decadence of your favorite dessert does wonders for body and soul. May it bring you peace, joy and good tidings of great joy!
